Random Act of Kindness

Hello All!  Today's post is a very special one about two very special people.  Stephanie Hobbs is a young girl who had to say goodbye to her dear friend Cole much too soon.  Cole was taken to be with the angels after a long battle with neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer.  He and his family and friends fought a tough battle, but in the end, it turns out he was needed among the angels above us.  Stephanie who travelled along this battle has courageously and generously gone on her own to make friendship bracelets in honour of Cole and is donating all her proceeds to help fight childhood cancer.  When my co-worker heather, who is Stephanie's mom told me about this amazing thing she is doing, I asked if she could make 20 for Hannah to give as gifts for her classmates for year end.  She went right to it and made 20 beautiful bracelets.  I can't tell you how this has touched me and our family among many others.  I made these little purses for the girls and ommitted the handles for the boys (not that I'm against boys and purses, but thought without the handle might be better!)  Stephanie is still working on orders as word is being spread about this amazing act of kindness.  If you would like to be inspired by a little boy and his parents who have endured the unimaginable but have come out strong as ever, I encourage you to visit Cole's site, it is an amazing story of strength and courage:   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/colepetrie
His journey along with parents Brian and Jenn is an inspiration to us all.  If any of you are interested in these friendship bracelets please send me an e-mail and I will pass it along to Stephanie.   THanks for stopping by today :)

Sheep Punch Art MDS style!

Well today I am on an MDS high!  I was able to get my projects done for my Club, 2 days early!! So unlike me :)  So tonight I thought I better get Miss Kayla's invites done!  I have been at my laptop for less than 30 minutes and there done :)  I asked Kayla at least a month ago what kind of party she wanted...she thought about it and told me she wanted a sheep party - YES a sheep party!  Seriously I have no idea where that idea came from!  I was hoping for a Finding Nemo party with her birthday being in July, my ideas were endless, but SHEEP!  URGH!  Oh well, have to give the girl what she wants right?  So we're in the making of a sheep party.  Hope you like the invite!  The inside is the same minus the word bubble and has all the info on it - no handwriting required!  Hope you had a great day, and if you're interested in joining my MDS Club, send me a message :)  Steph

Happy Father's Day x 3

Happy Father's day to all the wonderful dad's out there!  I was going to post these day by day, but since today is the day...thought I would just post them all at once!  So sorry for the lateness, bu these could easily be changed into Happy Birthday cards.  So from the top: to my dad - I used the retired Wanted stamp set, as we're both horse nuts!  DSP is Comfort Cafe - my new fave!  Cardstock is Midnight Muse.  Second - to hubby Aaron - stamp set Open Sea (so glad this one came back to the catalogue!) and colours are Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.  DSP is the Nautical Expedition, and this card was created by Heather Summers, this was one we did at last year's demo event.  And lost but not least!  For my step-dad Jim (and this is my favourite card) I used a digital stamp on MDS (think it's called King of the Grill???) and printed it on Naturals White 2x.  I coloured one and cut it out and used dimensionals to pop it out.  Cardstock is Midnight Muse and DSP is Summer Smooches.  Ribbon is the new Gumball Green - LOVE IT!  So there you go!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend, we were super busy with yard work, making jam, nice family dinner, and family time.  Thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Happy For You Card Class

Well better late than never right ?  Ever had one of those days where nothing really goes the way you planned?  That was yesterday!  But I was able to take Kayla to her JK orientation and then babysit Olivia for a little, so it was all worth it :)  So here it is, one of the cards we'll be making next Friday for my class.  I still have spots if you're interested in making some really cute cards.  There will be a variety so they won't all be baby cards, I just couldn't resist this little guy though!  Anywho, time to get kiddies to bed.  Thanks for stopping by, if you'd like a spot in my class next Friday just send me a message :)  Take care, Steph

Summer Smooches Paper Flowers

These babies won't die on me!  My Open House theme was Summer Smooches, these are the flowers I made using the Summer Smooches Paper and my Stampin'Up! Simply Scored.  Super easy and I just glued them onto a wooden skewer and inserted into a $3.00 vase from Wal Mart.  What do you think??  I see me making some more of these to co-ordinate with the season.  Hope you had a good weekend, ours was awesome, and so far the week is off to a great start :)  Again, thanks to all who came out Friday :)  I'll be posting a sneak peak for my upcoming card class on June 22nd tmw.  Stay tuned! Ready and Waiting :)

Well I made it through the week and am ready for my Open House!  Here's the card we are making for a make'n take tonight.  I LOVE summer smooches DSP and the Bright Blossoms set - it makes me feel so summery and cheery :)  This card also has the new Gumball Green for the stems - this is the new inkpad I used the other day and LOVE it.  I find the colours are very vibrant and the image stamps really clear.  Anywho, better get going to greet some guests!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you have time stop on out at my Open House!  Take care and thanks for stopping by :) Steph

Open House almost ready!

Well my tables are ready, make'n takes are ready, gifts are almost ready (THANKS MOM) and now just need to clean my house!  So needless to say I do not have a creative post!  BUT I have made a card using the new hostess set for my class June 22nd and I LOVE the new ink pads!  I'll post the pic in the next cpl days.  So above are pics of my monkeys at the ELM 2nd Annual Trike-a-thon.  They wanted to decorate their bikes completely on their own, so they did!  Together the families at ELM raised over $1100.00!!  Way to go ELM families!  Anyways, gotta get back to some cleaning!  Hope to see you tmw at my Open House, lots and lots of good deals!!  Take care and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

S'mores Anyone??

Hello all!  What a weekend!  Aaron was sick all last week, and then who comes down with it?  ME :(  It started Friday and went downhill Saturday, but we made it through the trike-a-thon (thanks to all who came out and supported or pledged Hannah and Kayla).  Hannah was so determined to win, I've never seen her so aggressive - was kinda funny!  Anywho, the God's were on my side and my Saturday night Ladies Night was rained out so we will be doing that this Saturday, the 9th!  So if you can't make my Open House Friday, I STRONGLY recommend coming out Saturday as the remainder of my retired items will be there :)  And I'll also have gifts for the first 30 people to my table :)  Ok, onto my post.  Since I have been under the weather, I have been taking it easy and just working here and there on my room (praying I have it done for Friday!)  So today's post is a recipe I did up for my WONDERFUL Pampered Chef Consultant (oh yeah and she's also my sister !)  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these little treats!  So yummy and so addictive - so consider yourself warned!  I used the Noteworthy Digital kit to make this card, super easy :)  Anywho, heading off to bed and hoping this cold finds a new home!  Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you Friday!  Steph
