Stocking card from GI Fundraiser

Good evening!  Hope you are all well, we're starting to get better here, just little Hannah who is under the weather now.  A quick post tonight...teachers and colleagues gifts yet to package, baking and cleaning to be done...yikes!  This card I made at Heather's annual GI Fundraiser.  It uses the Stitched Stocking stamp set and stocking punch.  Colours are Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler.  The Limeade is embossed with the snowflakes embossing folder (one of my favourites!).  Hope you're all ready for this weekend (wish I was!!)  Take care and thanks for stopping by :) Steph

Medallion Christmas Card

Good Sunday Morning to you all!  I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see some nice fluffy stuff on the ground!  It just seems to add a little more Christmas spirit don't you think?  We're going into finish off the last of the shopping today and hopefully we get it all done!  Feeling much better from the new meds for my sinuses, thanks ladies for understanding about Friday night, I'm looking forward to Monday! OK, onto today's card...I made this one with the Ladies from the Largie Church, I think it's safe to say that it's my favourite this year.  I  love the Meadallion stamp, I find it's so versatile, you can use it for weddings, birthdays, and as you can see Christmas!  I also used the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, punches are the Jumbo Snowflake, Word Window and Modern Label.  Colours are Cherry Cobbler and Naturals White.  The Medallion is done with a versamark pad and Whisper White emboss powder.  Hope you like and enjoy your Sunday :)  Thanks for stopping by, Steph

Magic Reindeer Food - a Hybrid project!

Hello again!  I'm on a roll!  These cute little things I'm making for Hannah's class.  I had never heard of reindeer food before til Hannah's 1st (or maybe 2nd) Christmas and my mom brought some over for her to sprinkle on the ground - I thought what a great idea!  So this year I decided to dress it up a little!  and what quicker way than with MDS?  So off to my PC I go to make up some cute little tags, in no time at all I had these made using a stamp from (Old Saint Nick - I think!) and the script at the top is Scriptina, I love this script for x-mas.  The rest is done in corsiva as it's a little easier to read.  I ran some Night of Navy through the Big Shot using what other than the Top Note die :)  added some ribbon and Voila!  Oh and the food is super easy to make, rolled oats and sugar!  I dyed some Epicure decorating sugar red and green and then also added some cinnamon sugar to make it smell Christmasy!  What do you think?  Hope you're having a great day and thanks again for stopping by!  Steph

Halleluliah!

Not sure if that's the right the spelling...but we've figured out the picture problem -YEAH!  Our memory card was much too big for the PC, so we found out through trial and error that our little 512MB card for little Hannah's camera works! Yeah!  So I'm now hoping to get LOTS of pics up for you in the next cpl of days :)  Today's post is from a card that a special someone made and gave to me (thanks Kathie!)  I met Kathie back in the spring at a crop for the London Skating team, and since then I have had the pleasure of Kathie coming to my crops and classes.  Kathie is also a demo and makes some amazing cards!  This little gem is one of them!  So I completely copied Kathie's card and then added some skin tone to Santa with the Blush Blossom marker, and then some Dazzling Details to Santa's hat, coat and the snow. The belt is black grossgrain ribbon, and a POP TAB - can you believe it?  Who thought of that?  Well I wish I could tell you, but I do know that Kathie saw the card first on Split Coast Stampers, so whoever you are...thanks for a super cool idea!  Brads of course are Basic Black for Santa's buttons.  How adorable don't you think?  Well off I go, have a sick kiddie at home and some homeade chicken soup on the stove, yum!  Thanks for all your patience and for continuing to stop by, and thanks Kathie for the awesome card :)  Steph

Christmas Card MDS style!

Hello all!  Well it's December 11th and I still don't have a fix for getting my pics uploaded onto my 'new' computer - grrr!  So tonight I decided I better get a post up so I created a card using MDS, since for now that's the only pics I can get on this thing!  Hubby returns tmw so then at least I can use his laptop.  OK, enough grumbling!  I must say I am really into the blue and silver this year for Christmas.  I've always been a fan, but find this year I'm really drawn to it.  This card is really simple, just a few stamps, added text for the greeting and some satin ribbon.  The picture of course is from hubby's studio.  Let me tell you, it was the session from hell, our kids are by far our worst customers...but he still managed to get a few good shots.  Hope you're having a great weekend, thanks for stopping by :)  Steph

Polar Bear Punch Card

Hello all!  First of all, a HUGE thank you to you all for continuing to stop by!  I'm feeling much better now, and starting to get caught up on things!  I had a WONDERFUL Friday last week :)  Thanks to some awesome women in Strathroy and some more awesome women at Club night here in Glencoe.  We had a great time making 'star albums' using the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin kit - Love that kit!  On to today's post...a card I made last year and most likely posted last year, but am re-posting for lack of pics being taken of my current projects!  Colours are Real Red, Marina Mist, and Whisper White.  This is not my original design and can't remember where I saw it on the net, so my apologies to the original creator!  Punches used are: Decoration (bulb) punch for the head, Wide oval for the hat, legs and arms, 1/2 " circle for the ears, 3/4" for the eyes, large oval for the nose and paws.  Hope you enjoy tonight's card, I'm a bachelorette for the weekend so I hope to have lots of cards posted for you!  THanks so much for stopping by, have a great night :) Steph

Scenic Season

Hi All!  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  I'm a little under the weather today, a lovely sinus infection has found it's way to me and so I'm having a nice quiet day, and will be off to bed shortly!  Today's card is one using the set 'Scenic Season', a simple set but one that I love.  Colours are Naturals White, Garden Green, and Pool Party. I stamped with versa-mark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  The edges I ruffed up and then added some Whisper White satin ribbon.  Very simple :)  Hope your day is better than the weather here!  Take care and thanks for stopping by :) Steph

More from the Simply Scrappin kits!

Hello all!  I must admit I had hoped to post some more current projects but I am behind in my photos, it's on my weekend to-do list!  So with any luck I will some cool new things to show you all :)  In the meantime, here is another page that I used with the 'I Wish" simply scrappin kit from last year.  Colour are Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla. This page was super easy to put together and there isn't alot on it, as I didn't want to take away from the pics of little Hannah, isn't she cute?  Anywho...this will be a short post but I hope to be back soon!  Have a great Friday and for those who are participating in the US shopping - enjoy all the deals!  Thanks for stopping by :) Steph

A Merry Day!

Happy Sunday morning to you all!  I have had such a wonderful weekend so far!  It started off with the Glencoe parade...I love the night parades with all the lights, and I love watching the girl's faces light up :)  After the parade was Club night - I love Club nights!  We made some super cute gift card holders which I will post soon, just have to upload the pics!  The on Saturday was the Largie Sunday School fundraiser - what a GREAT group of women!  I had a great time stamping with you all and look forward to a spring event - thanks :)  Then it was off to buy winter boots for the kiddies.  So now before the day gets too crazy I thought I would sneak on and get a post up!  This page is done using last year's Christmas kit, but could easily be done using other paper and colours.  The colours are Always Artichoke, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, and Very Vanilla.  I used an outline from a Chipboard snowflake and some Craft Cherry Cobbler ink to colour it (when using chipboard it's always best to use Craft ink, it shows up much better) Then I sprinkled Iridescent Ice onto the snowflake outline and used my heat gun to emboss...on the pic it doesn't really show, but in real life it really shines!  Then in the centre I added some Rhinestones and voila :)  Hope you like :)  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday :)

Star Album - Using Simply Scrappin Kit

HELLO :)  I finally have pics back!  Only catch is I have to use hubby's laptop and have him put them on a flashdrive which I can then put into our new (but again not new!) computer. Dear Santa, please send me a current updated laptop :)  OK, onto my post...some of you have already seen this but I thought I would still post it.  We'll be making these at Club night in December and I'm super excited, I really love the colours and how easily they come together.  All it is is1/2 of a Simply Scrappin kit, plus 2 sheets of 12x12 cardstock BUT you MUST use sticky strip!  I have used other adhesives and have already had to re-glue it.  Sticky strip is a must )  The kit I used for this album is the one in the current Holiday Mini (Christmas Jingle I believe).  I added some Riding Hood Red ribbon and Voila!  Super easy and a WONDERFUL handmade gift for Christmas :)  Thanks so much for stopping by, if you have any questions about the album please feel free to e-mail me at stampaholicsteph@gmail.com.  Have a great night!

Technical Difficulty

Hello all :(  I'm sending out a sad face as I am sorry that I still don't have a creative post, and it's now been a week!  I have lots of projects to share, but can't upload the pics on our new (yes I said new) but there's a catch, gently used piece of C-R-A-P- (for lack of a better word) computer!  UGHHHHH!  Yes it's a little faster, but I would REALLY love to be able to upload my pics onto my computer...really, at this day in age is that so much to ask for?  My hope is that hubby will have this solved in the next day or so, and so then I will catch you up on all that's been created in the past week or so!  Hope all is well, and thanks so much for stopping by,  I appreciate your patience while we get this sorted out!  Take care and hope to be back soon!  Steph

Beautiful Season

Hello all!  Well I had hoped to post this card sooner, but had some technical difficulties.  Our home computer kicked the bucket and my laptop doesn't have a card reader to upload pics (yes it's ancient!) so we now have a new computer - yeah, but I'm missing all my shortcuts from the old one, anywho at least it's back!  Had a great weekend, amazing weather for November!  Yesterday we had a crop day at the Legion, thanks to all who came out and a special thank you to my mom and sister for all their help.  Oh yeah the card!  This is quickly becoming one of my favourite sets (actually it;s my mom's!) Colours are Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.  I stamped the bird with Basic Black onto Naturals White.  I tried Stazon but I didn't find it was dark enough.  I used watercolour crayons to colour and a Cherry Cobbler marker for the berries.  The Garden Green card stock was dry embossed with the Finial Embossing folder using the Big Shot.  Some Early Espresso quilted ribbon and Dazzling Details and voila!  Hope you like!  Thanks for stopping by :)

November??? Really?

Hello!  How are you all?  Let me tell you, I have been soooo busy!  But I LOVE IT!  Thursday night I had an awesome 'team' night, I learned alot of things that I can't wait to share!  Friday was a blur, Saturday, Hannah, my mom, and I went to Heather Summers annual GI Cancer fundraiser - awesome time, only afterwards we went to Fabricland, where I forgot my purse with a considerable amount of cash - THANK YOU BERNICE and another WONDERFUL lady at Fabricland on Wonderland Road, my purse was returned safe and sound with everything in it, I am SO lucky! Sunday was family dinner, yard clean up day and prep for Hallowe'en, Monday, awesome day with my little niece and Hallowe'en, phew!! and so here we are November 1st - YIKES!  Now that you're all caught up, onto why you really stopped by!  I'm posting a few pics, first is of the Hallowe'en treats we made for Hannah's class, then a couple of Hannah from GI Cancer fundrasier and  I just loved our Thurday night meeting so I wanted to post a pic of the box that each of us received with a cupcake, the crasft that Hannah made for Heather, and lastly I'm posting the cards that are included in the packages that I am making up to sell as a fundraiser for Hannah and Kayla's daycare.  THere are 6 cards in a pkg, 2 each of 3 designs, for each pkg sold, $5.00 goes to the daycare.  My goal is to sell 25 pkgs...so send me a line if  you;re interested!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I have a crazy few days ahead but I promise to get back with another post this week!  Take care, Steph :)

Yes I'm still lovin the Spice Cake!  I'm going to have to stock up on this paper :)  I made this card for hubby while we were at the cottage...I try to make one each time so he knows that I really do appreciate my time away!  I used the French Foliage set, Naturals White Cardstock, Spice Cake DSP (of course), Ear;y Espresso Cardstock and More Mustard Cardstock.  Punches are the large Scallop and the 2 1/2" circle punch.  Inks are Early Espresso, More Mustard and Pool Party.  Tied on some Early Espresso satin ribbon and voila!  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by :)

Snowbuddies

Hi All!  What a cold yucky evening! I'm thinking it's a good night for a hot chocolate and to catch up on some Private Practice!  Today's post is a card that was created by Heather Summers and was done at her recent demo event.  We'll be making this card along with others at the Legion on November 5th. I still have  a couple spots left so if you would like to make a set e-mail me and I can book your spot!  Hope you're staying warm and dry...daddy is away and the monkeys are running wild so I better make it short!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flower Daisies #2

Happy Sunday all!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Ours was nice and quiet (well as quiet as it gets with 2 little ones!)  Today's post is another page I did at the cottage using the Love Birds kit.  I used the Flower Daisies 2 die to make some paper flowers.  It's hard to see in the pic but the centres of the flowers have pearls in them to add some dazzle. Colours are Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Early Espresso.  This page was super simple to put together, but I really liked the girliness of it for Hannah's baby pic, plus I thought the paper colours matched really well with the flowers in the paper. Have a great night and thanks so much for stopping by!  Steph

Fall Family Photos

HELLO!  How are you all?  I just got back from a great class at Heather Summers.  I just love her creative, positive energy.  For those who haven't met her, she is a true delight and always leaves me re-inspired - thanks Heather!  So now that I've told you I'm re-inspired, I'm just doing a quick post and heading to my craft room.  Here's a flyer I made up for hubby last night - literally took me 15 minutes, he read the kids their bedtime story and I was done.  LOVE MDS!  Here's how I made it...I used an 8.5 x11 blank page
  •  went to Backgrounds and chose 'custom background'
  • uploaded a picture that Aaron took of the leaves for the background
  • added 6 photo boxes and then dragged the photos into each box
  • matted all photos with 'whisper white' and then 'drop shadow' on each (you can select all 6 boxes and do this in 1 step)
  • added a square punch for the 'title' - I used the colour picker to choose which colour to fill the punch in with (which I made into a rectangle shape by clicking the arrow and dragging to make it larger)  to use the color picker choose the 'colour match' (I believe) and then you can select any colour out of the page, I used a colour from one of the leaves
  • added another square punch and filled it with Early Espresso, again matted in white and dropped shadow
  • added text and voila!  SO SIMPLE!!!
If you have MDS, I encourage you to play around with it.  It's really an awesome program.  It takes a little bit to get familiar with it but once you do, it's super easy!

Hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by :)  Steph

Happy Birthday Avery!

Hello all!  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We had a delicious dinner at my moms (THANK YOU!)  And the weather just couldn't be any nicer!  We enjoyed a nice nature walk at the Longwoods Conservation area yesterday and then today we went to the A.W. Campbell conservation area, both beautiful places to see.  I especially love this time of year with all the beautiful colours!  Today's post is a card I made for my niece (yes I have 2, little Avery and little Olivia).  Yesterday was Avery's 1st birthday!  Her room is all done with lady bugs so I found a lady bug card on Dawn Griffiths site and made my own version.  I learned a neat trick from Dawn's site...she used the eraser end of a pencil and Basic Black ink to do the spots on the lady bug...cool eh?  Recipe for this card is 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle punch, Designer Label punch and Wide Oval.  Colours are Basic Black, Real Red, and Lucky Limeade.  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Whale Fun!

Happy Saturday to you all!  What a gorgeous Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada!  We couldn't ask for nicer weather, that's for sure.  Today's post is another page from the Love Birds Simply Scrappin kit.  I added a little Tall Tales DSP (retired, sorry) as I thought the DSP was perfect for this page.  The pictures were taken at Storybook Gardens, Kayla loved being inside the whale.  It's hard to see but both Kayla and Hannah are actually peeking through the eye of the whale.  Hope you are all having a great weekend, today's post is a little short, hoping to get some work done in my craft room!  Take care and thanks for stopping by :)  Steph

Simply Scrappin

Have you ever purchased a simply scrappin kit before?  I highly recommend it!  This is another page from the Love Birds scrappin kit from last year.  I have the Tea Time ready and awaiting, I love the colours in it!  This page is pretty simple, it used the kit and then I used the Cricut for the letters and the Big Shot for the stars.  Added some Early Espresso satin ribbon, pulled a couple strings to bunch it and voila!  The picture is of Hannah at the Brigden fair in 2008.  She was so excited to meet Dora, she even tried to sneak a peak at what's inside Dora's back pack!  So cute!  Hope you're having a good night and thanks for stopping by:) Steph

Potatoehead

Hello :)  Well I did it,  I took all my pics from my pages!  YEAH!  And I was going to save this one for last as it's my absolute favourite, but I just couldn't wait to share it!  Here are my little potatoe head girls, aren't they little hams?  I used a kit I had bought some time ago, the Simply Scrappin Love Birds kit.  I love the colours and sticky die cuts with this kit.  My little miss potatoeheads are completely made out of chipboard and then coloured with Craft inks (except the brown bodies, I covered the chipboard with soft suede paper).  The bodies were owls and I cut off the ears, the arms are the legs from the birds in the chipboard kits and the shoes are leaves from the chipboard kit.  Let me know what you think!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll try and post some more tmw :)  Take care, Steph

Spice Cake #3

Have you ever deleted something and it was the wrong thing? Let me tell you, once I deleted a whole MDS album, I wanted to cry, I still haven't re-completed it!  And then just now I deleted my post that I had already done, so now onto a new one!  I'll try and re-post what I was going to post later.  SO onto today!  I had a wonderful weekend at the cottage with some super amazing women.  I managed to complete 16 pages, 3 cards, and a 12x12 shadow box page...probably the most I've ever completed!  I just have to take pics of them and I will have them posted ASAP :)  Today's card is the 3rd card I made with the wonderful group in Strathroy.  I know I've said this before, but this group is very special and I so enjoy my time with them.  Colours are More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade , Pool Party and Early Espresso,  Stamp set is French Foliage and Teeny Tiny Wishes and paper is .....yes you guessed it SPICE CAKE!!!  Hope you have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by, I hope to be back again later :)  Steph

Squirrel or Raccoon?

Hello!  I'm so very excited, finished up my 1 day of work for the week as me and some wonderful ladies are heading to Windswept!  If you've never heard of it, Windswept is a cottage along the St.Clair Parkway in Port Huron.  It is definitely one of my favourite places.  We scrap, eat and chat for 4 days and 3 nights.  It's awesome!  I'm almost packed, which is not normal for me, it's usually the night before, so I'm ahead of the game (for now!).  Onto today's post...as soon as I saw this set I wanted it, Forest Festivities.  I just love little critter sets for Christmas!  Now this little guy, I first thought was a raccoon, then I took another look, and now I think it's a squirrel.  What do you think?  Colours on this card are Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Naturals White and Letters to Santa DSP.   I used the Modern Label punch to punch out the Limeade and then stamped the greeting on a scrap of Naturals White, I then attached it to the back.  Tied a little ribbon and voila!  Hope you have a great night, I will try and post while I'm away, but it all depends on my laptop and the connection, so I won't make any promises!   Take care and thanks again for stopping by :)  Steph

Forest Festivities

Happy rainy Monday to you all!  What a dreary day, at least it's Monday though and not a Friday.  Today's post is the card I made on my solo night.  It's pretty simple, but I like it.  Colours are Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  I layered some scrap pieces of white to create the look of snow hills and then added some dazzling diamonds (I love glitter!) I used last year's hostess set for the snowflakes (sorry, the name escapes me) and a felt snowflake from the clearance rack.  I added a build-a-brad, Marina Mist ribbon, 3 jingle bells from the new mini tied with linen thread, and voila!  Hope you like :)  Thanks for stopping by today :)  Steph

Club Night (Finally)!

Good morning all!  Looks like another beautiful day for the Glencoe Fair -yeah!  Had a very quiet night last night with the kiddies and hubby gone and although I got a couple cards done, not nearly what I had hoped to accomplish!  However, it was nice to have some down time (thanks mom!)  So here is the page we did last week for Club night,  I just love the Spice Cake DSP.  This page is taken right out of the holiday mini, and although I try to make my pages on my own, I saw this page and had to make it,  It was a bit of a challenge to remember how to weave (way back to those kindergarten days)!  I think us girls all had fun with it.  I used 1/2" strips as I found that 1" strips were too wide.  3/4" strips would probably work as well.  Colours are Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and More Mustard.  The stamp set is French Foliage (awesome fall set) and the words at the bottom of the picture, I did up on MDS.  Hope you have  a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Scrapbook/Crop Day

Hello All!  What a beautiful day for the Glencoe fair!  The girls and I headed down for a bit this morning and caught the parade.  I must say there were a lot of cool floats this year!  So today's post is for my upcoming crop day.  I'm so excited to get into Christmas crafts and gifts.  I'm one of those people who really loves to give handmade gifts to the grandma's and grandpa's, I really feel it means so much.  For this crop, you can come and crop all day, have the use of the Big Shot, dies, punches, stamps, and we now have the Cricut Expression to add to our collection of toys!  You can also sign up for a class, and if you sign up for 2 you get to crop for FREE!  Both classes come with a full set of instructions so you can reproduce it as many times as you like.  Now for the creative part of my post, I of course did the flyer using MDS.  So EASY!  Love MDS :)  Anyways, the kiddies are at my mom's and hubby's in TO, so I'm heading to my scrap room!!  I'll be back with some creations soon :)  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!  Steph

Spice Cake #2

Hello! Here's my second card from last night.  It again uses the Spice Cake DSP and French Foliage set.  This time I took the leaves and randomly stamped the Crumb Cake with Soft Suede and More Mustard.  I mounted a 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 piece of DSP onto a 3x2 piece of Chocolate Chip.  The leaf is stamped with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla with a small 3/4x2' piece of DSP.  I added a little Chocolate Chip ribbon and stamped Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  Voila!  Hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by, have to make this a quick one and plan to be back tmw!  Take care, Steph

Spice Cake

Good evening all!  Well this isn't our Club project, I took pics of it and am not happy with the pics, my flash keeps reflecting on the actual picture on the page, so when hubby gets home from school I'll have him re-take it.  So here's what I did while the kiddies were in bed and hubby away learning some new Photoshop skills!  I have a class in Strathroy this Friday and we're making Thanksgiving cards.  I LOVE the new Spice Cake DSP.  It's one of the first times I've gone through almost the whole package of paper in less than a week!  Definitely have to re-order this one!  Colours are: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Mustard and Soft Suede.  Stamp sets are French Foliage (lovin this set) and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Fall is most likely my favourite season so I found this card really easy to make.  I'll be back tmw with another Spice Cake creation.

Apples!

Good Sunday morning to you all!  What a beautiful day yesterday, and so far today looks like it will be just as nice!  Today's post is a recipe card I made up for my Club members.  Friday was our first Club night for the year so I wanted to treat everyone with an apple crisp since the family and I went apple picking.  My Club ladies are fantastic and we had a such a great night.  I'll post our project soon, probably not today as I have 10 children under the age of 6 arriving this afternoon for Hannah's b-day party - yikes!  I'm sure it will be great fun.  So back to my post...I used MDS for the recipe card.  I'm working on doing my favourite recipes in MDS and I'm doing them as 8.5 x 11 as I purchased a report portfolio from Staples to put them in.  The portfolio is a binder that can also be flipped to make a stand (like a triangle) will try and add a pic for this too!  Anyways, I wanted something so that my recipes aren't lying flat on my counter while cooking, getting full of flour, sugar, etc.   I'm pretty excited!  Now for the girls, I took the 8.5x11 jpeg of the recipe card and imported into Word, I then shrunk it so I could fit 4 on a piece of paper and then printed.  I then mounted them on Chocolate Chip cardstock to make them a little more sturdier than just the white cardstock.  So there it is!  And I made the card using just the basics from My Digital Studio, in other words, everything on the card is what you would receive from buying just the studio, I didn't need to download any extras.  There really is so much to use on this program!  Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, thanks so much for stopping by, I'll get our project posted asap!  Take care, Steph

MDS Wedding Album

Hello All!  Thanks for stopping by today, I was super busy over the weekend with in-laws down from Timmins and Hannah's birthday...so I have had little creative time :(  BUT wanted to post so here's a page from the album I did from one of Aaron's wedding's he did last year.  I really loved the Bride's fall theme.  This was all done with My Digital Studio, colours are Dusty Durango (I think - been a long time since I did this page)  I added some white satin ribbon and some paper daisies,  along the top I have some stitching to finish it off.  It's very simple but I find with the wedding albums, unless the Bride and Groom specifically want a 'scrapbooky" album that simple is best.  Again, thanks for stopping by, I'm working on getting all my Club projects done and will post them soon!  Take care!  Steph

MDS Birthday Invite

Hello everyone!  As some of you know, little Hannah turns 5 this week, I can't believe it!  We're having a nice little party with all the grandmas and grandpas on Friday and then next Sunday is her actual birthday party, and she would like a Smurf party... I'm a little late getting those invites out, so MDS to save the day!  Did these up tonight, and although all the element aren't all Stampin'Up as I downloaded some Smurf pics, I just love how easy this program works! I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie DSP and some Marina Mist to break it up.   Added some Very Vanilla satin ribbon and bow, 3 Chocolate Chip brads and voila!I'm going to print these off and get them out today (I hope!).  Hope you're all having a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by,  Steph

My all time favourite

Hello :)  Hope everyone's little ones had a great first day back to school.  Hannah starts tmw and seems to be quite happy to return.  And well Kayla thinks she's going too!  I asked her what will mommy do next year when her baby goes to school, she said I dunno, I told her mommy will cry and asked if she would and she says "NO!", and I believe it!  Anyone who has met Kayla will most likely agree!
Well onto today's post and at the risk of over doing my Nature Walk posts, here's my personal favourite from the class!  This one was adapted from a card I saw in the Stampin"Success some time ago, and unfortunately I cannot remember the person's name who originally made the card.  I did change it slightly, but can't take all the credit, so if you're out there and this is your card - thank you for sharing!  Colours are crumb cake, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and elegant soiree DSP.  I added the antique brads and ribbon and also the extra strip of DSP across the middle.  On to another note - have you checked out the new Holiday mini?  Oh how I love this one!  I am so excited to get stamping with my new paper and stamp set, I hope to have some sample up for you soon!  Stay tuned :)  Steph

12x12 Christmas Layout

Hello there!  Glad you could make it over to my blog today!  I have a special treat for you all - the beginning of Christmas!  Yes I said it - Christmas!  I made this page up for a group in Strathroy that I go to every month.  I especially love these classes as I have so much fun with all of the people.  Anyways, I saw this page in last year's catalogue and loved it, so I made the page up, added a little of my own taste and then decided to make up 4 extra kits.  So if you would like to purchase one of these kits, they are $10.00.  Everything is pre-stamped, all you have to do is glue, journal and add a picture!  Easy eh?  So if you're interested please e-mail me at stampaholicsteph@gmail.com.  Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!.

Hello September!

Good evening!  First of all I must say thanks to all the awesome ladies who came out last Friday to make some cards.  I had a wonderful time and was glad to see you all!  As promised, but a little late....the Nature Walk easel card that we made.  I love making easel cards, one because they're so unique and two, because they are SO SIMPLE!  All you need to do is take a 12x12, cut at 4" and then score at 4", 6", and 8".  You then need to fold at the score lines and then take the 4x4 piece and glue to the 2" scored piece, almost like making it into a zig zag.  The trick with these cards is that you need to have something 'popped' up to make them stand up.  I generally use an oval or modern label punch and dimensionals to do this.  I hope you can see from the pictures, if you have any questions on making this cards please send me a line, I'd be happy to help!  Colours are Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Elegant Soiree DSP, Naturals White.  Punches used where the large scallop oval , large oval, 1 3/4" Cirlce and 2 3/8 large Scallop.  I used some Baja Breeze seam binding and an Antique brad (my new favourite embelishment!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate all of you out there who take the time to check my blog out.  I hope to one day be able to post everyday, but for now, I'll keep posting as much as I can!  Have a great long weekend!  Steph

3x3 Notecard

Good evening!  At the risk of giving my whole class this Friday away...here's another card we will be making :)  I was never really into the 3x3 notecards but have become a big fan as they are so easy to make and can really dress up a little gift or basket.  Colours are Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Elegant Soiree DSP (retired, sorry).  The butterfly (or maybe it's a moth, not sure) is stamped with Early Espresso and then I used the watercolour crayons and my blender pen to add some colour.  Greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  Quick post today, hubby is on the East coast, and kids and puppy are very busy :)  Thanks for stopping by, have a great night! Dog Days

Happy Monday everyone!  Days just don't get much better than today...finally get to open my new windows (thank you Jay from DeRydt Homes), have been outside to enjoy some beautiful sunshine, completed the cards for my upcoming Nature Walk class, and got to make 2 of these cute dog cards to boot!  I wanted to make our trainer Cathie a thank you card for taking care of Cooper while we were in Timmins.  I was a little hesitant to leave the little guy as he was just settling in from being taken from his mom...however, he had great care, alot of training, and I'm pretty sure he remembered 'home' when we got back.  So many thanks to Cathie for taking such good care of the little guy!  This card is inspired by Jackie Topa.  I am really trying to keep from blog hopping so that I can spend more time creating, but needed a little help making this punch card.  Her idea was just what I needed so I decided to just add a little more to the dog house and voila!  On Jackie's card she used the 'word window' punch for the ears, I don't have this one (can you believe it?) so I used the 5 petal flower and just trimmed off a petal, and folded it.  Punches used are: 1 1/4 for the head, large wide oval for the body, nose, and tail, small oval for the back legs, and front paws.  The house is regular card with the top edges trimmed, and also stamped with the woodgrain background stamp.  Name on the house and bone is the Modern Label punch.  Hope you can get out to enjoy some of this perfect weather!  Thanks for stopping by today :)  Steph

Nature Walk over load?

Hello All!  Lovin this sunshine!  Having a great weekend, spent yesterday shooting a wedding in Sarnia with hubby, and today I have actually been making and creating cards!  It feels like it's been forever.  So I thought I would share one of my creations which will be part of my class this Friday.  If you are interested please send me a msg as I do have limited spots for this one.  Colours are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze.  DSP is Elegant Soiree (retired, sorry) and the ribbon is Very Vanilla and an antique brad to finish it off.  I'm rather pleased with how this one turned out!  Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Nature Walk invite

Hello!  Back safe and sound from the North :)  Haven't had a chance to stamp...and I've taken apart my stamp room again! So I am right into re-organizing to make more room.  Today's post is a wedding invite that I did recently using the Nature Walk set.  I used Chocolate Chip cardstock and Vanilla paper.  Not sure if you can tell on the middle picture but the 2 RSVP cards have little tabs so they are inserted right into the invite.  The whole invite folds up into an envelope and is sealed at the back, pretty neat eh?  Anywho, busy with unpacking and bouncy little Cooper!  Take care and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Nature Walk and Pearls

Hello all!  For those of you who stopped by last Monday or yesterday, my apologies to my grammatical error, and thank you Erin for bringing to my attention!  So we're off to Timmins tmw morning and won't be back til Tuesday.  Today's card is a re-post from quite some time ago.  It uses the Nature Walk set which I was so happy to have carried into the new catty!  So happy that I am planning a class :)  The class will be either the 2nd last Wednesday of August or the last Wednesday.  Will post details as soon as I have them.  The class will be limited to 8 people so if you are interested send me an e-mail and I can set your spot aside.  Hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be back on Tuesday!  Take care, Steph

Sunny Days MDS

Hello and happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Had an awesome day at the Legion, thank you to all the ladies who came out to make cards, scrapbook, and of course GAB!  I love it!  Sunday was a nice realxing day.  Delivered all my invites (next crop day I do hope to scrap!, but must say I enjoy the invites just as much!) Had some nice family timw along with and busy little Cooper.  We managed to get out for a nice walk so we were able to get a solid nights sleep.  Onto today's post.  THis is one of the pages I had done using the Sunny Days MDS kit.  I still have a couple more pages before sending it off to print.  Colours are Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turqouise, and Pink Passion.  This page was super easy as I used the Desginer Template, so I literally only had to plunk my picuters in.  A great time saver!  Enjoy your day and thanks again for stopping by!
