Squirrel or Raccoon?

Hello!  I'm so very excited, finished up my 1 day of work for the week as me and some wonderful ladies are heading to Windswept!  If you've never heard of it, Windswept is a cottage along the St.Clair Parkway in Port Huron.  It is definitely one of my favourite places.  We scrap, eat and chat for 4 days and 3 nights.  It's awesome!  I'm almost packed, which is not normal for me, it's usually the night before, so I'm ahead of the game (for now!).  Onto today's post...as soon as I saw this set I wanted it, Forest Festivities.  I just love little critter sets for Christmas!  Now this little guy, I first thought was a raccoon, then I took another look, and now I think it's a squirrel.  What do you think?  Colours on this card are Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Naturals White and Letters to Santa DSP.   I used the Modern Label punch to punch out the Limeade and then stamped the greeting on a scrap of Naturals White, I then attached it to the back.  Tied a little ribbon and voila!  Hope you have a great night, I will try and post while I'm away, but it all depends on my laptop and the connection, so I won't make any promises!   Take care and thanks again for stopping by :)  Steph

Forest Festivities

Happy rainy Monday to you all!  What a dreary day, at least it's Monday though and not a Friday.  Today's post is the card I made on my solo night.  It's pretty simple, but I like it.  Colours are Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  I layered some scrap pieces of white to create the look of snow hills and then added some dazzling diamonds (I love glitter!) I used last year's hostess set for the snowflakes (sorry, the name escapes me) and a felt snowflake from the clearance rack.  I added a build-a-brad, Marina Mist ribbon, 3 jingle bells from the new mini tied with linen thread, and voila!  Hope you like :)  Thanks for stopping by today :)  Steph

Club Night (Finally)!

Good morning all!  Looks like another beautiful day for the Glencoe Fair -yeah!  Had a very quiet night last night with the kiddies and hubby gone and although I got a couple cards done, not nearly what I had hoped to accomplish!  However, it was nice to have some down time (thanks mom!)  So here is the page we did last week for Club night,  I just love the Spice Cake DSP.  This page is taken right out of the holiday mini, and although I try to make my pages on my own, I saw this page and had to make it,  It was a bit of a challenge to remember how to weave (way back to those kindergarten days)!  I think us girls all had fun with it.  I used 1/2" strips as I found that 1" strips were too wide.  3/4" strips would probably work as well.  Colours are Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and More Mustard.  The stamp set is French Foliage (awesome fall set) and the words at the bottom of the picture, I did up on MDS.  Hope you have  a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by!  Steph

Scrapbook/Crop Day

Hello All!  What a beautiful day for the Glencoe fair!  The girls and I headed down for a bit this morning and caught the parade.  I must say there were a lot of cool floats this year!  So today's post is for my upcoming crop day.  I'm so excited to get into Christmas crafts and gifts.  I'm one of those people who really loves to give handmade gifts to the grandma's and grandpa's, I really feel it means so much.  For this crop, you can come and crop all day, have the use of the Big Shot, dies, punches, stamps, and we now have the Cricut Expression to add to our collection of toys!  You can also sign up for a class, and if you sign up for 2 you get to crop for FREE!  Both classes come with a full set of instructions so you can reproduce it as many times as you like.  Now for the creative part of my post, I of course did the flyer using MDS.  So EASY!  Love MDS :)  Anyways, the kiddies are at my mom's and hubby's in TO, so I'm heading to my scrap room!!  I'll be back with some creations soon :)  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!  Steph

Spice Cake #2

Hello! Here's my second card from last night.  It again uses the Spice Cake DSP and French Foliage set.  This time I took the leaves and randomly stamped the Crumb Cake with Soft Suede and More Mustard.  I mounted a 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 piece of DSP onto a 3x2 piece of Chocolate Chip.  The leaf is stamped with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla with a small 3/4x2' piece of DSP.  I added a little Chocolate Chip ribbon and stamped Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  Voila!  Hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by, have to make this a quick one and plan to be back tmw!  Take care, Steph

Spice Cake

Good evening all!  Well this isn't our Club project, I took pics of it and am not happy with the pics, my flash keeps reflecting on the actual picture on the page, so when hubby gets home from school I'll have him re-take it.  So here's what I did while the kiddies were in bed and hubby away learning some new Photoshop skills!  I have a class in Strathroy this Friday and we're making Thanksgiving cards.  I LOVE the new Spice Cake DSP.  It's one of the first times I've gone through almost the whole package of paper in less than a week!  Definitely have to re-order this one!  Colours are: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Mustard and Soft Suede.  Stamp sets are French Foliage (lovin this set) and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Fall is most likely my favourite season so I found this card really easy to make.  I'll be back tmw with another Spice Cake creation.

Apples!

Good Sunday morning to you all!  What a beautiful day yesterday, and so far today looks like it will be just as nice!  Today's post is a recipe card I made up for my Club members.  Friday was our first Club night for the year so I wanted to treat everyone with an apple crisp since the family and I went apple picking.  My Club ladies are fantastic and we had a such a great night.  I'll post our project soon, probably not today as I have 10 children under the age of 6 arriving this afternoon for Hannah's b-day party - yikes!  I'm sure it will be great fun.  So back to my post...I used MDS for the recipe card.  I'm working on doing my favourite recipes in MDS and I'm doing them as 8.5 x 11 as I purchased a report portfolio from Staples to put them in.  The portfolio is a binder that can also be flipped to make a stand (like a triangle) will try and add a pic for this too!  Anyways, I wanted something so that my recipes aren't lying flat on my counter while cooking, getting full of flour, sugar, etc.   I'm pretty excited!  Now for the girls, I took the 8.5x11 jpeg of the recipe card and imported into Word, I then shrunk it so I could fit 4 on a piece of paper and then printed.  I then mounted them on Chocolate Chip cardstock to make them a little more sturdier than just the white cardstock.  So there it is!  And I made the card using just the basics from My Digital Studio, in other words, everything on the card is what you would receive from buying just the studio, I didn't need to download any extras.  There really is so much to use on this program!  Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, thanks so much for stopping by, I'll get our project posted asap!  Take care, Steph

MDS Wedding Album

Hello All!  Thanks for stopping by today, I was super busy over the weekend with in-laws down from Timmins and Hannah's birthday...so I have had little creative time :(  BUT wanted to post so here's a page from the album I did from one of Aaron's wedding's he did last year.  I really loved the Bride's fall theme.  This was all done with My Digital Studio, colours are Dusty Durango (I think - been a long time since I did this page)  I added some white satin ribbon and some paper daisies,  along the top I have some stitching to finish it off.  It's very simple but I find with the wedding albums, unless the Bride and Groom specifically want a 'scrapbooky" album that simple is best.  Again, thanks for stopping by, I'm working on getting all my Club projects done and will post them soon!  Take care!  Steph

MDS Birthday Invite

Hello everyone!  As some of you know, little Hannah turns 5 this week, I can't believe it!  We're having a nice little party with all the grandmas and grandpas on Friday and then next Sunday is her actual birthday party, and she would like a Smurf party... I'm a little late getting those invites out, so MDS to save the day!  Did these up tonight, and although all the element aren't all Stampin'Up as I downloaded some Smurf pics, I just love how easy this program works! I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie DSP and some Marina Mist to break it up.   Added some Very Vanilla satin ribbon and bow, 3 Chocolate Chip brads and voila!I'm going to print these off and get them out today (I hope!).  Hope you're all having a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by,  Steph

My all time favourite

Hello :)  Hope everyone's little ones had a great first day back to school.  Hannah starts tmw and seems to be quite happy to return.  And well Kayla thinks she's going too!  I asked her what will mommy do next year when her baby goes to school, she said I dunno, I told her mommy will cry and asked if she would and she says "NO!", and I believe it!  Anyone who has met Kayla will most likely agree!
Well onto today's post and at the risk of over doing my Nature Walk posts, here's my personal favourite from the class!  This one was adapted from a card I saw in the Stampin"Success some time ago, and unfortunately I cannot remember the person's name who originally made the card.  I did change it slightly, but can't take all the credit, so if you're out there and this is your card - thank you for sharing!  Colours are crumb cake, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and elegant soiree DSP.  I added the antique brads and ribbon and also the extra strip of DSP across the middle.  On to another note - have you checked out the new Holiday mini?  Oh how I love this one!  I am so excited to get stamping with my new paper and stamp set, I hope to have some sample up for you soon!  Stay tuned :)  Steph

12x12 Christmas Layout

Hello there!  Glad you could make it over to my blog today!  I have a special treat for you all - the beginning of Christmas!  Yes I said it - Christmas!  I made this page up for a group in Strathroy that I go to every month.  I especially love these classes as I have so much fun with all of the people.  Anyways, I saw this page in last year's catalogue and loved it, so I made the page up, added a little of my own taste and then decided to make up 4 extra kits.  So if you would like to purchase one of these kits, they are $10.00.  Everything is pre-stamped, all you have to do is glue, journal and add a picture!  Easy eh?  So if you're interested please e-mail me at stampaholicsteph@gmail.com.  Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!.

Hello September!

Good evening!  First of all I must say thanks to all the awesome ladies who came out last Friday to make some cards.  I had a wonderful time and was glad to see you all!  As promised, but a little late....the Nature Walk easel card that we made.  I love making easel cards, one because they're so unique and two, because they are SO SIMPLE!  All you need to do is take a 12x12, cut at 4" and then score at 4", 6", and 8".  You then need to fold at the score lines and then take the 4x4 piece and glue to the 2" scored piece, almost like making it into a zig zag.  The trick with these cards is that you need to have something 'popped' up to make them stand up.  I generally use an oval or modern label punch and dimensionals to do this.  I hope you can see from the pictures, if you have any questions on making this cards please send me a line, I'd be happy to help!  Colours are Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Elegant Soiree DSP, Naturals White.  Punches used where the large scallop oval , large oval, 1 3/4" Cirlce and 2 3/8 large Scallop.  I used some Baja Breeze seam binding and an Antique brad (my new favourite embelishment!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate all of you out there who take the time to check my blog out.  I hope to one day be able to post everyday, but for now, I'll keep posting as much as I can!  Have a great long weekend!  Steph
